University Strengthens Partnership with Thailand's Srinakharinwirot University

June 30, 2025 – As part of our ongoing internationalization efforts, our university held a comprehensive partnership meeting with Thailand’s Srinakharinwirot University to explore expanded collaboration opportunities. The discussions focused on educational resource sharing and joint talent development programs, resulting in several concrete partnership agreements that will drive academic excellence at both institutions.

During the meeting, Vice President Shen Yunci outlined our university’s applied-science orientation, emphasizing our multidisciplinary approach centered on economics and management. She highlighted our current scale of operations across three campuses, offering 45 undergraduate programs to over 20,000 students. “We have established partnerships with more than 50 universities across 10 countries and regions,” Shen noted. “As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations, we see tremendous opportunities to deepen our collaboration with Srinakharinwirot University.”

Dean Dr. Porawan Pattayanong from Srinakharinwirot University expressed appreciation for the warm reception and presented her institution's strengths as a leading Thai national comprehensive university, particularly in education and arts and media fields. She highlighted the university’s School of Social Communication Innovation, which offers nationally recognized programs in film design and multimedia interaction, expressing enthusiasm for mutual benefits through student exchanges and faculty collaboration.

The meeting resulted in significant partnership developments. Both universities jointly unveiled the “China-Thailand Film and Arts Education Research Center,” which will focus on collaborative teaching and research in film performance, directing, and multimedia interactive design programs.

Additionally, the universities signed a 2025 Faculty Training Agreement, under which our faculty members will participate in pedagogical training programs in Thailand, enhancing the international competence of our teaching staff.

A highlight of the discussions was the detailed planning for an innovative “3+1+1” bachelor’s-to-master’s program targeting Industrial Design and Environmental Design majors. This program structure allows students to complete their bachelor's-to-master's education in five years: three years of undergraduate study domestically, one year of master's preparatory courses domestically, and one year of master's study in Thailand.

The universities reached comprehensive agreements on credit recognition, master's preparatory curriculum arrangements, and multilingual instructional support for the program.

This productive partnership meeting establishes a solid foundation for deeper cooperation in educational resource sharing, joint talent development, and academic exchange. The collaboration also creates a new platform for advancing China-Thailand educational cooperation and cultural exchange.

Moving forward, both universities will leverage their respective strengths to cultivate more talented individuals with international perspectives and innovative capabilities, contributing to the global advancement of higher education.
