Strengthening Inter-University Cooperation: A Series of Exchange Activities between Our University and the Bratislava University of Economics and Management

From September 15 to 17, our university and the Bratislava University of Economics and Management (BUEM), Slovakia, carried out a series of exchange activities under the theme “Defining Directions, Benefiting Students, and Building Mutual Trust.” The program included cooperation talks, a campus presentation, and cultural visits, deepening the partnership between the two institutions.

September 15 - Vice Rectors Michal Fabus and Marian Kovac from BUEM joined Vice President Shen Yunci and Deans of several colleges for a cooperation meeting. Both sides reached consensus on advancing the Silk Road College, including relaunching the “2+2” student exchange program, exploring a “4+x” bachelor-to-master pathway, and expanding collaboration with Slovak engineering institutions to jointly cultivate technical talent and support Chinese enterprises in Slovakia. They also discussed joint research initiatives and pledged to strengthen cultural exchange by working with the Slovak Embassy in China and related institutions to broaden cultural outreach.

September 16 - The Slovak delegation hosted a promotional session at our Academic Center 202, drawing over 100 students. Vice Rector Marian Kovac introduced Slovakia’s cultural and geographical background and highlighted silk road cademic programs, particularly its “2+2” master’s track and diverse international opportunities. Two Slovak students currently studying in China, along with our faculty members with overseas experience, shared their study-abroad journeys. Interactive cultural activities gave students an engaging glimpse into Slovak culture while providing valuable insights for academic and career planning.

September 17- Accompanied by university leaders, Vice Rectors Fabus and Kovac, together with three visiting students from Shanghai University, explored Ningbo’s historical and cultural sites. The immersive experience deepened mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation.

This series of activities not only defined a clear path for the cooperation model of “university partnerships + university-enterprise collaboration + institutional synergy” but also built an international platform for students, injecting new vitality into China–Slovakia educational cooperation.
