UC Riverside Delegation Visits Our University

On the morning of April 15, a delegation from the University of California, Riverside (UC Riverside) visited our university. Jenny Deng, Director of International Affairs at UC Riverside, led the delegation.

At the meeting, Shenyunci, the University Party Committee Member and Vice President of our university, attended and delivered remarks. The two sides then held in-depth discussions regarding potential areas of cooperation. Representatives from our Office of International Cooperation, the Office of Academic Affairs, and other relevant departments joined the talks.

Vice President Shenyunci expressed sincere willingness to deepen collaboration with UC Riverside, wishing for UC Riverside to become one of our most important partners for undergraduate-to-master’s and doctoral-level programs in the United States. The UC Riverside delegation spoke highly of our university’s academic strengths and our commitment to partnership. They shared detailed program proposals and flexible mechanisms for coordination and implementation.

The discussion focused on key topics related to the “3+1+X” pathway for undergraduate-to-master’s and master’s-to-doctoral preparatory programs, including credit recognition, language requirements, areas of professional coverage, and students’ progression routes. Both sides demonstrated strong interest in cooperation. UC Riverside’s advantages in engineering education and applied learning align closely with our institutional positioning in cultivating applied talent. Based on this initiative, UC Riverside also expressed the intention to gradually expand collaboration to include faculty and student exchanges, credit exchanges during regular semesters or summer terms, and further opportunities for research cooperation.

Looking ahead, both universities will prioritize the implementation details of the program to provide students with more high-quality international educational resources and clear pathways for academic advancement.
